Laura Enkiri
Senior Program Officer
LIIF
"What continues to draw me to this industry is both its impact and its urgency. I am motivated by the opportunity to help expand access, support educators, and contribute to systems that better serve children and families during these foundational years."
Laura is a first-generation American, who grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. As a Senior Program Officer, she supports projects seeking funding through BuildUp Oregon’s grant programs by guiding providers through the full lifecycle of a grant and providing technical assistance.
Laura’s commitment to early care and education is deeply rooted in her upbringing. Raised by a teacher and a home-based child care provider, she saw firsthand the impact of high-quality care environments. That experience led her to begin her career at a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool, where her passion for early learning took shape.
“Early childhood is such a critical window for development, yet access to high-quality care is still inequal,” she reflects. “At BuildUp Oregon, I am motivated by the opportunity to help expand access, support educators, and contribute to systems that better serve children and families during these foundational years.”
Today, Laura lives in San Diego, where she’s happiest by the ocean. Her superpowers include making the perfect pan of brownies and making playlists.
